This play centres on the lives and loves of three sisters, abandoned long ago by their father who is a prominent climate scientist. He predicts environmental apocalypse:
The planet can sustain about one billion people. We currently have six billion. People say they want the truth, but actually they want to be told it can be avoided, with minimum effort. You feel it, we all do. We know there’s nothing to be done, so we’re dancing and drinking as fast as we can. But the enemy is on its way, but it doesn’t have guns and gas this time, it has wind and rain, storms and earthquakes. This is death, this is loss and pain.
